A two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on teaching the GPP curriculum was offered from May 24-25, 2017 to 22 lecturers (9 female, 13 male) from 8 tertiary institutes across Bhutan.

The GPP curriculum was developed by RIM with the support from the international partners the Collaborating Center on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) and International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). The curriculum-and-capacity development for RIM and other institutes and colleges in Bhutan is done with the hope of embedding GPP knowledge in Bhutan in the long run. The content of curriculum was developed using the knowledge gathered during the GPP Bhutan project as well as drawing from other international intelligence on GPP.

During the ToT, participants were briefed on the fundamentals of GPP and walked-through the 13-week course on GPP that is designed to provide foundational knowledge on GPP and SCP to college students. The lecturers were encouraged to brainstorm ways of including relevant topics into their respective subject areas.

Details on the GPP courses and other publications on GPP can be accessed at RIM’s GPP Knowledge Platform here: http://gpp.rim.edu.bt.
