20 Mar 2014 - Laura Turley and Tilmann Liebert presented on sustianable consumption at the Imagine Change! local forums held by the Secretariat for the New Development Paradigm in Thimphu on March 20, 2014. While the consumption pattern in Bhutan is less destructive compared to the neighbouring countries, there is a definite rise in consumption habits and limited consideration of environmental and social impacts in our purchasing decisions. Green Public Procurement is one way in which sustianable consumption can be introduced and encouraged in Bhutan since our government spends around 70% of it's budget on procurement.
