Sensitising manufacturers in Gelephu about GPP

Two one-day GPP sensitization and awareness events was successfully carried out for manufacturers and executive members of Bhutan Chamber for Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in Gelephu on the 29th  and 31st August 2016 to a total of 46 participants. The main objective of the program was to create awareness and sensitize suppliers on GPP concept and importance of integrating environmental, social and economic aspects in sustainable business enterprises.

On 23rd August 2016, GPP Bhutan delivered a Sensitisation and Awareness Raising (SAR) event on the relevance of Green Public Procurement (GPP) to manufacturers, suppliers and other cottage and small businesses in Thimphu. The SAR event was conducted to make local businesses and suppliers aware of sustainability and the role of businesses in greening the economy.  The 22 participants at the event came from diverse business background ranging from vegetable vendors, hoteliers, handicraft, handmade paper, furniture, ICT, bricks etc.

Incorporating sustianability in the construction industry

On July 26, 2016, GPP Bhutan conducted the 2nd Sensitization and Awareness Raising Programme on Green Public Procurement (GPP) for the members of Construction Association of Bhutan (CAB) in Thimphu.

A total of 22 participants (14 male and 9 female) representing large, medium and small categories of contractors attended the event. The overall aim of the programme was to introduce the concept of GPP, life cycle thinking and to augment the capacity of contractors (as suppliers) to respond to tenders that include environmental and social criteria.
