Asher Imam is an international development professional with a balanced background in both sustainable and economic development. Asher’s original career path was in finance. His background in business administration led to a decade of economic development work in multinational and local banks/financial institutions in Pakistan including affiliates of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Pakistan, before he shifted his professional focus.
With a growing concern for sustainability, Asher pursued his Masters in Sustainable Development, with major concentration in Development Management. Asher also worked with the World Bank Group, researching the involvement of civil society and faith-based organizations in the Bank’s work. He explored how these organizations could collaborate with the World Bank to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. In his position at SIT Graduate Institute, Asher planned, fundraised for and implemented sustainable development activities and convened monthly SD Task Force meetings to evaluate progress and support improvement.
